MUNICIPALITY
The Proddatur town was constituted as IIIrd Grade Municipality in the year 1915, upgraded as Second Grade in the year 1956, Ist Grade Municipality in the year 1980 and presently stood as Special Grade Municipality from 1998. The population of the Proddatur town as per 2001 Census is 1,50,309 and increasing the population from 1,07,070 to 1,50,309 from 1981 to 2001. The existing area of the Municipality is 7.121 Sq.Kms.
