As per the proceedings Roc. No. 15300 / 08 / H1, dated 02.08.2008 of the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad forwarded by the Regional Director-Cum-Appellate Commissioner, Municipal Administration, Anantapur, Action Plan is prepared and implemented on Special Sanitation Drive from 07.08.2008 to 20.08.2008 by dividing the entire town in 4 zones with Zonal Officers and Team Members.  The following sanitation works are takenup effectively during the Special Sanitation Drive Program.

 

Sweeping :

 

Daily all the main roads and street roads of 111 Kms length are swept and cleaned completely.

 

Drain Cleaning :

 

Drain cleaning work is taken up in all the streets and 95% of drains are desilted covering 205 KMs, out of 211 KMs length of drains daily.

 

Transportation of Garbage :

 

90 MTs of garbage is generated daily and transported the total garbage regularly.

 

Door to door collection of garbage :

 

Out of 38957 No. of households, 37909 Nos. of households are covered for Door to Door collection of garbage daily covering 95% of the households.

 

Awareness Campaigns :

 

56 Awareness Campaigns are conducted during the Special Sanitation Drive and 9,130 S.H.G. members, public, N.G.O., Ward Members and others are participated in the programme.  Local M.L.A., Chairperson and the Commissioner have participated in the programmes.

 

Tree Plantation :

 

Tree Plantation is takenup and 525 Nos. of trees are planted with tree guards during this period and the District Collector, M.P., M.L.A., Ward Members and Municipal Commissioner are participated in the programme.
